Winning Blue Dragon, Hong Sa Bin Chooses To Leave The Military First

JAKARTA - Young actor Hong Sa Bin surprised the public after announcing the date of his mandatory military departure. This announcement was shared two days after he won his first award in the film.

Sunday, November 26, the agency that oversees him, SEM Company confirmed that the actor was preparing for military service.

"Hong Sa Bin will leave for military service on December 19," the agency quoted Sportsseoul as saying.

This news came as a surprise after Hong Sa Bin received the Best New Actor award at the 44th Blue Dragon Film Awards held last week. His acting received praise from critics in the film Hopeless where he collided with Song Joong Ki.

"Hopeless received a good response, and (Hong Sa Bin) received the honor of being nominated at various awards. From the actor and agency side, we are worried when determining the date of his military service," explained the agency.

"It looks like he can't delay it anymore, and there's an opinion that it would be better for him to leave now and come back quickly, so that's how this decision was made," he said.

Hong Sa Bin is the actor who was born in 1997 who debuted in 2016. This year, his name began to shine thanks to the various projects he played.

Despite playing a supporter in Duty After School, his acting has attracted public attention. He also appeared in the series Moving and A Bloody Lucky Day. He is also said to have starred in the film Escape with Lee Je Hoon.

Hong Sa Bin will leave for military service at the age of 26, two years before the mandatory age set by the government to carry out the country's duties.
