"So far, people only know that big ones such as bathroom tubs, buckets. Bottles of bottled water that are thrown away carelessly or used drugs, basically every place or container that can accommodate clear water has the potential to become a breeding ground for dengue fever mosquitoes," he added.

He reminded about the importance of people implementing 3M plus which is an acronym for Draining, Fertilizing and Closing, then plus raising fish in ponds and raising plants that repel mosquitoes such asnaires andrai (Sereh).

In addition, as did Thais during the season of dengue fever, people in Indonesia are also advised to wear sleeves and trousers to reduce the skin exposed or possibly bitten by mosquitoes.

Then, speaking of the season that is considered to be able to lead to dengue cases, Leonard said transitions rather than the rainy season.

"It's a transition. If it rains continuously, the water flows, it doesn't matter. But if the rain stops and rains again, it often gets inundated," he said.

He added that there are a number of areas where dengue hemorrhagic fever cases are known to be high, such as Bali, Bandung and Jakarta. The reason is because of the population density, houses are built together so that gaps can be flooded with water.
