Rocky Movie Star, Burt Young, Died At 83 Years Old

JAKARTA - Actor Burt Young, known through the Rocky film franchise, died. This news was confirmed by the child, Anne Morea Steingieser to the New York Times on Wednesday, October 18 yesterday.

Burt Young died on 8 October in Los Angeles. The family did not reveal the reason for the death of the actor.

During his life, Burt Young became popular after playing the character of Paulie Pennino in the Rocky film which was also played by Sylvester Stallone along the franchise. They act as good friends starting from the first film in 1976 to the sixth film released in 2006.

Paulie's character is told to die in 2012, so Burt Young did not appear in the 2015 spin-off creed. Through that role, Young received the best supporting actor nomination at Oscar.

Born in Queens, New York, Burt Young did not talk much about his personal life so that no one knew his family's name. He also left school at the age of 15 years to work in the Navy.

He debuted his acting through the film Carnival of Blood with the stage name John Harris. Then, he starred in Born to Win and The Gang That Could't Shoot Straight.

Young played a lot as a supporting actor in various genres, such as Cinderella Liberty, Chinatown, The Gambler, to The Killer Elite.

Until the end of his life, Burt Young did more than 20 films and there were even some films that were still in the production process. He completed the production of the film The Final Code and Way of the Warriors while several others were still in the pre-production stage. In the series, Burt Young last starred in the second season of the Russian Doll series on Netflix.

Burt Young was first left by his wife, Gloria who died in 1974. He left one child, Anne Morea.
