JAKARTA - Bentara Budaya developed the Art Gallery at the age of 41 years. This gallery is the development of cultural institutions as a forum for exhibitions and cultural arts performances in the archipelago.

The Art Gallery Cultural Bentara is officially open today, Tuesday, September 26, 2023. The inauguration was marked by the cutting of a series of jasmine flowers by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono, Deputy for Digital Economy for Creative Products at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Muhammad Neil El Himam, and Deputy for Administration and Management of the Rika Kiswardani Secretariat Palace.

"Today's official Bentara Budaya Art Gallery is opened so that it can be enjoyed by the community, especially painting lovers. Hopefully this gallery can become a space for artists to share inspiration," said Heru Budi Hartono.

"Betara will continue to support the art that has a strong roots in the traditions of the archipelago as well as contemporary creations that are trending today," said Ilham Khoiri as General Manager of Bentara Budaya.

Bentara Budaya Art Gallery is also expected to be a tourist destination in Jakarta for tourists who love the arts.

Still in the 41st Anniversary series, Bentara Budaya Art Gallery features an exhibition of Bentara art collection with the title Indonesian Man in Bentara Budaya Collection Painting. The work consists of 37 paintings, dozens of wayangs (shells, wood, and grass), modern statues, and ceramics.

In the form of paintings, the collection includes the works of artists from the 1930s to the 2000s, such as Affandi, Hendra Gunawan, S Sudjojono, Dullah, Agus Djaja, Nasirun, and Budi Ubrux.

37 paintings in Bentara Budaya were curated by Frans Sartono which took the theme of Indonesian people in everyday life.

Bentara Budaya Art Gallery is open to the public starting today, Tuesday, September 26. Visitors can make reservations before making a visit to Bentara Budaya.
