JAKARTA - The EDAM Entertainment Agency issued a recent statement regarding the plagiarism case that dragged IU. They have investigated to straighten out accusations that indirectly impact their artist.

In May, the public was shocked by the plagiarism report filed by a netizen against IU. The agency recruited copyright attorneys to sue the producer who made the post considering that the producer was seen targeting IU as the perpetrator.

Monday, September 4, the IU agency, EDAM Entertainment released a statement that the agency decided to reject criminal charges against IU because this is not a crime.

EDAM explained that IU had never participated in making the five songs alleged by the netizens.

"We first heard through media reports on May 10, 2023, our artist was reported to the Gangnam Police, Seoul for violating copyright. Through a legal representative, we asked for the documents in question and our representatives assured that this case had no legal basis and should be revoked," said EDAM Entertainment.

"In the end, the investigation decided to withdraw the report against the artist on August 24 and we just received the results on August 30," he continued.

EDAM said IU did not write or join the production of the writing of five alleged songs so that IU could not be sued in the report.

We have asked for a full investigation through text and video. In the future, we will follow up on actions that harm the artist's reputation without tolerance," said EDAM.

The agency also received reports from the public or fans via email addresses provided and tried to process cases in order to keep the names of their artists.

On the other hand, IU will soon hold a fan concert titled I+UN1VER5E which will be held on September 23 and 24, 2023 at KSPO Dome, Seoul. Different from the usual concert, fan concerts are events that combine fan meetings and concert concepts at the same time.
