No Sorry To MUID Victims, Poppy Capella Criticized By Netizens

JAKARTA - Poppy Capella's latest statement regarding alleged sexual harassment at the Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 event received a negative response. He is considered not to apologize to the public and victims who experienced the incident.

Poppy Capella as the owner and National Director released a written statement regarding the alleged sexual harassment. 8 points were shared, Poppy admitted that she did not know and was not involved in the body checking process ahead of the Miss Universe Indonesia grand final.

In his statement, he suspected that he had the intention to pressure him as the owner with negative news. Poppy said that certain parties wanted to take Miss Universe Indonesia's license from her.

"I have obtained evidence and information that this was deliberately done by certain parties who wish to take over the permission of Miss Universe Indonesia that I have," said Poppy Capella.

Because of this, Poppy Capella has appointed a lawyer to process the report to the police. Poppy did make a statement to refer to the news instead of explaining cases of sexual harassment that the victim had reported to the authorities.

"I will ensure that I will take legal steps by demanding a civil and criminal return, namely making a police report because of a criminal act of broadcasting fake news," he said.

Since it was first uploaded, this post has drawn negative comments from the public. They regretted that Poppy Capella did not apologize for the issue of sexual harassment circulating even though the stories of several contestants confirmed the harassment.

"Is it healthy? Instead of apologizing, instead of demanding a return, saying care for each other, but how come you don't defend the victim, you are even required to come back. Your statement is contradictory at every point," wrote one netizen.

From the beginning of this news rising, not a single apology came out of every press release muid. Although it has not been legally proven that there has been sexual harassment, the testimonials from several participants and even muid officials confirmed the existence of body checking which of course were not carried out properly.
