The Weeknd Has Plans To Change Name After New Album

JAKARTA - The Weeknd has plans to change its stage name. The singer whose real name is Abel Tesfaye has been using The Weeknd since 2oo9.

In a recent interview, The Weeknd thought of having a stage name after Weeknd's section was over.

"It took place and time when I prepared to close part of The Weeknd," The Weeknd quoted The Independent as saying.

"I'm still going to make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to end The Weeknd, I'm going (to)," he explained.

At the same time, this Uncut Gems star revealed his music project. He is working on his last work as The Weeknd.

"The album I'm working on may be my last glory as The Weeknd. This is something I have to do. As The Weeknd, I've said everything I said," he said.

In addition to music, The Weeknd is busy with the promotion of its latest series, The Idol, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Abel was enthusiastic about being able to work on acting projects after a long time.

Film and TV are new creative powers for me. I didn't release music until I felt it was good. Why is this the difference? he said.

The Idol tells the story of Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), a woman who is in danger of losing her career as a pop star due to a nervous disorder she has. One day, he meets Tedros (Abel Tesfaye/The Weeknd), the club owner with a dark secret.

Jocelyn and Tedros started a romantic relationship that turned out to bring Jocelyn to a new world that threatened her.
