World Cinema Week 2022 Film Festival Closed With Screenings Yang Patah Tumbuh, Yang Hilang Berganti

JAKARTA - The World Cinema Week Film Festival performance was closed with the screening of the latest film entitled Yang Patah Tumbuh, Yang Hilang Berganti. The film, directed by Herwin Novianto, features aging actors Donny Damara and Indro Warkop, as well as actress Clara Bernadeth.

As a director, Herwin Novianto has his own reasons for choosing this line of players. "I've always wanted Donny, I think he's the most suitable for Mr. Indro, see for yourself that the actor is there. About Clara, she's new, but she really fits," he said Sunday, October 30.

In this film, Indro Warkop performs a scene that he has never done in previous films. "This is the first time I have had a dance scene. A new challenge for me. To be able to do a dance scene, we have a dance coach. Ms. Endah Laras and the two assistants are also dancers. So we were helped a lot. The practice was quite long, about two weeks," he said.

Meanwhile, Donny Damara admitted that the stick he used when playing the character Darto was not made up. "Interesting experience. I was using a stick, I was injured. I had a muscle injury. That's a fact that I used as a property. During reading, I didn't have a scene with a stick, but it turned out that I fell and injured my muscles. Darto's character is like that," he said.

In addition to Indro Warkop and Donny Damara, several players who joined the Yang Patah Tumbuh, Yang Hilang Berganti were Clara Bernadeth, Donny Damara, Endah Laras, Windarti, Wina Marrino, Diva Ratu Alifia, to Nurtyas Yunianto.

Apart from showing the films Yang Patah Tumbuh, Yang Hilang Berganti, the World Cinema Week film festival also gave an Audience Award for films that were screened at this film festival. For 2022, the winner is the film Rebel directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Previously, these two directors successfully directed the Ms Marvel series and the Bad Boys For Life film.

Event Director of World Cinema Week, Sandy Gasela revealed, the jury for the Audience Award assessment is the audience. "This one, the judges are direct viewers, who can give scores through the cinepoint application," he said.
