JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) continues to accelerate the completion of the 24.7 km Bangkinang-Pangkalan Phase I (Tanjung Alai) toll road project. The toll road project is targeted for completion in December 2023.

"The progress has reached 88.58 percent and is targeted to complete construction in December 2023," said Head of the Riau National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN) T Juliansyah in his official statement, Saturday, November 18.

The Toll Road, which is part of the Pekanbaru-Padang section, is useful for boosting economic growth in Pekanbaru City and Kampar Regency, mainly around toll roads.

The construction itself is carried out by implementing contractors PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk and PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur with an investment cost of IDR 4 trillion.
