Hartadinata Abadi Launches Sharia Pawn Service

JAKARTA - PT Gemilang Hartadinata Abadi officially launched Sharia Pawn Service in two provinces, namely West Java and East Java.

This Sharia Pawn Service complements the conventional pawning services that have been running in 6 provinces in the country, namely West Java, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, and DKI Jakarta which currently have 88 pawn services.

President Director of PT Gemilang Hartadinata Abadi, Beny Witjaksono stated, the sharia pawn service by Gadai Hartadinata Abadi is a breakthrough for the community who has been wanting pawn services and products by prioritizing fair and transparent sharia principles.

The presence of sharia services can be an option for customers who have wanted to be peaceful because they are free from usury. The launch of this sharia pawn service is our effort to serve customers who prioritize conformity with religious values, whose numbers are growing along with the increase in middle income groups in Indonesia," he said in a statement to the media, Monday, October 2.

He explained that later the Gadai Hartadinata Abadi Syariah service would now reach customers in West Java and East Java.

For West Java, services are carried out in 13 units of Greater Bandung, Tasikmalaya, Banjarsari, Pangandaran, Pamukan, Arjawinangun and Plered and Subang areas.

As for the East Java region, 38 units cover the Surabaya Area to the Madura region.

"The company plans to expand its service reach area in the future, along with the development of plans to expand its sharia pawn service," added Beny.

In the transaction process, the sharia pawning greatly emphasizes the importance of justice, transparency, and compliance with the principles of Islamic ethics, where all operational and financial aspects are monitored by the sharia Council or sharia committee which ensures compliance with the provisions of the sharia fatwa that defends itself.

The benefits of Gadai Syariah's own services can be enjoyed by various groups and segments of society not only limited to Muslims, but also has wider benefits for various levels and segments of society.

"The sharia (Rahn) pawn is more profitable for customers because it is not subject to interest from the loan of funds for goods pawned, in order to avoid usury so that it damps," continued Beny.

He said the capital leases imposed as pawn services were more rational and comfortable because they were calculated daily as needed.
