Directorate General Of Taxes Aims For Record Revenue Of IDR 2,000 Trillion, First In History

The Directorate General (Directorate General of Taxes) of the Ministry of Finance believes that tax revenues in the 2024 period can reach IDR 2,000 trillion.

The tone of optimism was conveyed by the Expert Staff of the Minister of Finance for Tax Supervision of Nufransa Wira Sakti on the agenda of the International Tax Policy Dialogue: Tax and Financial Reporting Digitalization today.

According to him, the target is still quite realistic to achieve even though the global weakening factor also puts pressure on the country's financial coffers.

"Next year may not be easy, but it could be that our tax revenue will reach Rp. 2,000 trillion for the first time," he told reporters, Tuesday, September 26.

Nufransa explained, in the latest APBN posture, the target set by the government and the DPR has not yet reached the expected psychological level.

"In the APBN, it is still around Rp. 1,900 trillion, but the possibility that if there is a significant economic development, it will definitely reach Rp. 2,000 trillion," he said.

For information, the 2024 State Budget Draft which has been passed into law is known if the total state revenue is set at IDR 2,802.3 trillion.

Meanwhile, the expenditure side was recorded at IDR 3,325.1 trillion.

The postur made a budget deficit of IDR 522.8 trillion or equivalent to 2.29 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

This figure is lower than the 2023 State Budget deficit which amounted to IDR 598.2 trillion or 2.84 percent of GDP.

As for this year's tax revenues until the August period, it is stated that Rp1,247 trillion has reached 72.6 percent of the APBN ceiling which targets Rp1,718 trillion.
