The Third Largest National Police Budget In Political Year, Srimul: We Support The 2024 Priority Program

Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani stated that the state treasurer office is ready to support the 2024 work plan of the Indonesian National Police (Polri).

Srimul conveyed this commitment while speaking at the Police Musrenbang in the middle of this week.

"The priority program of the National Police in 2024, we will support it," he said.

According to the Minister of Finance, police institutions have a central role in maintaining social security stability which is also in line with the acceleration of an inclusive and sustainable economic transformation.

It was stated that the issue of social security is very prominent next year, namely the implementation of elections, although not the only one.

The Minister of Finance said, many threats can come from within and outside the country such as social, interaction, and technology aspects, which need to be continuously identified.

Meanwhile, regarding the theme of the Police's work plan, Srimul hopes that this institution can create a healthy environment for the business climate.

This inclusive economy means that public agencies including the police can continue to support efforts to equalize welfare. This means that the community, especially at the grassroots level, can carry out economic activities, be protected, and feel the importance of certainty so that they can continue to develop their business properly and the bureaucracy including the police and APH as supporting agencies, is not considered a scourge or a burden. This certainly requires a mindset of truly excellent service," he explained.

He added, in order to maintain the smooth running of the work plan, the National Police's indicative ceiling will remain the third largest in 2024.

"We hope that this will be able to meet the needs of starting from building human resources, providing adequate allowances to operational spending for police operations and in supporting various important activities," said Sri Mulyani.

In closing, the Minister of Finance ensured that the Ministry of Finance would continue to work well together with the National Police. According to him, protecting Indonesia must be carried out together with all ministries/agencies (K/L)/
