MAJALENGKA - Head of the Rebana Area Management Agency (Cirebon Raya, Patimban Port to Kertajati Airport) Bernardus Djonoputro predicts the number of passengers at Kertajati Airport, Majalengka, West Java, will continue to increase along with the operation of the Cisumdawu Toll Road.

"The preparation of the Cisumdawu Toll Road has reached Cipali and will operate in the past few weeks. So, there are no more connectivity issues. I think in the future there will be a sharp increase," said Bernardus, quoted from Antara, Sunday, June 25.

According to him, people in Sumedang and Bandung areas can reach Kertajati Airport within approximately an hour.

The reason is, the distance between Bandung and Kertajati Airport via the Cisumdawu Toll Road is around 60 kilometers, shorter than traveling through arterial roads which reach 180 kilometers.

In addition, Bernardus revealed plans to build a number of flyovers to further cut travel times to Kertajati Airport.

"I think this is proof that Kertajati Airport has been well prepared," said Bernardus.

As of May 28, 2023, Kertajati Airport has returned to operation by serving Hajj and Umrah flights.

"We always ensure that flights can run smoothly, so that when the pilgrims arrive at Kertajati Airport there will be no problems and any obstacles," explained Pintanugra.
