JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) has completed touring electric cars from Jakarta to Bali initiated by the Ministry of Transportation. Lasting for 5 days, this activity also campaigned for the electric vehicle ecosystem and covered a distance of 1,250 km.

This touring activity was attended by 20 vehicles from the Directorate General of Land Transportation, PLN, and various Brand Holder Sole Agents (ATPM). At the finish location, PLN will also participate in an electric vehicle exhibition which will be held on November 11-16, 2022. This exhibition was attended by 28 exhibitors consisting of electric motorcycles, electric cars, electric buses, electric trucks, electric conversion vehicles, and supporting components of battery-based electric vehicles.

In his remarks, the Coordinating Minister for SMEs Teten Masduki stated that the series of tours to electric vehicle exhibitions at the G20 Summit showed Indonesia's commitment to supporting the energy transition.

"Another experience from this activity is campaigning for the use of electric vehicles, as well as socializing sustainable programs in the future", said Teten in a statement to the media, Saturday, November 12.

"This G20 Summit is an international event that is in the world's spotlight. For this reason, PLN has prepared very carefully and put all its efforts into the success of the G20 Presidency", he said.

Meanwhile, Director of Retail and Commerce at PLN, Edi Srimulyanti, also explained that the company has prepared as many as 147 SPKLU units along the route from Jakarta to Bali so that electric car users don't have to worry if they want to pass this route.

"We have added 20 SPKLUs, so there are 147 SPKLUs along the Jakarta to Bali route so that electric vehicle users can be comfortable when crossing long distances", explained Edi.

He also explained that electric vehicle users only need to charge the vehicle 5 times on the Jakarta - Bali route.

Specifically in Bali, PLN will present 70 SPKLUs that will support the operation of 636 electric cars and 30 electric buses that will be used by the delegates of the G20 Summit. In addition, there are also 290 units of electric motors for security and 300 units of electric cars for operations during the G20 Summit activities.

As for the 70 units of SPKLU provided by PLN, namely Ultra Fast Charging with details of 64 units already installed, 4 spare units, and 2 units for mobile. Then there are also 200 Home Charging units and 21 SPKLU Fast Charging units spread throughout Bali Province.
