JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati hopes that the commodity balance can make business activities more efficient, especially in planning to export and import commodities.

"The commodity balance is expected to provide accurate, timely and efficient information in planning business activities, starting from applying for permits, to planning for imports and exports, and provides certainty of the administrative process", Sri Mulyani said as quoted by Antara, Monday 30 May.

With a commodity balance, business actors can monitor the stages of exports and imports of five commodities, namely rice, sugar, salt, beef, and fish, transparently so that it is hoped that the trust of actors in the government will continue to increase.

"With this national efficiency will be achieved and the competitiveness of the Indonesian economy will also increase", she said.

Commodity balances can also be used to maintain transparency of export and import commodity data spread across various ministries and agencies so that they are consistent with one another.

"Ministries and technical institutions can of course access data from commodity balances from upstream to downstream through the same dashboard, namely the National Commodity Balance System (SNNK)", she said.

She admitted that he would continue to improve the implementation of the commodity balance in line with the government's ongoing bureaucratic reform to make it easier for business actors.

"Regarding the improvement of the implementation of the commodity balance, of course, we need to continue to increase its coverage not only nationally but also hopefully to capture the regional side. And with the wider scope of the commodity balance, the benefits will also be felt more and more, including in integrating global supply chain information", she concluded.
