JAKARTA - The plan to abolish State Property (BMN) in the form of KRI Teluk Sampit-515 submitted by the Ministry of Finance to the House of Representatives (DPR) has finally been approved.

This was the conclusion of the Commission I Working Meeting of the Indonesian House of Representatives with the Deputy Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara, Deputy Minister of Defense, M. Herindra, and the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, General Andika Perkasa, on Thursday at the Parliament Complex Senayan, Jakarta.

In his statement, the Deputy Minister of Finance said that the results of the assessment were taken into consideration for the sale of State Property KRI Teluk Sampit-515 which included technical aspects, economic aspects, and juridical aspects regarding the condition of the ship.

"In an assessment that we carried out at the Ministry of Finance with the Ministry of Defense and also the Indonesian Navy, it was stated that the ship's material condition was heavily damaged and its machinery, electricity, navigation, and bridge instrument systems could no longer be used", he said, quoted Friday, March 25.

According to the Deputy Minister of Finance, from the economic aspect, it is known that the KRI Teluk Sampit-515 ship is not economical to repair.

"If this ship is not immediately abolished, there will be a decrease in the value of goods and the presence of this ship will also reduce the berth of ships at the dock", he said.

Furthermore, Sri Mulyani's subordinates also revealed that from other economic aspects there is potential for state revenue if the former KRI ship is sold.

"The selling value at the auction is estimated at IDR 740 million and will go into the state treasury in the form of PNBP (Non-Tax State Revenue)", he said.

Finally, continued the Deputy Minister of Finance, in the juridical aspect the KRI Teluk Sampit-515 ship is no longer used as part of the defense equipment system as an Indonesian warship and has been demilitarized/dismantling.

Meanwhile, KRI Teluk Sampit itself had become an important part of the Republic of Indonesia's defense. This ship was recorded to have been acquired in 1978 with a current value of IDR 173.96 billion. In addition to KRI Teluk Sampit, 14 other ships are currently in the process of permitting elimination because they are considered uneconomical and unfit for operation.
