World Record Records And Asia That Have Been Successfully Break During The 2023 Asian Games So Far

JAKARTA - A number of world records were successfully broken during the 2023 Asian Games which was held in Hangzhou, China. A number of athletes from various countries and sports, including Indonesia, were even able to set new records.

For the total number of sports contested at the 2023 Asian Games, there are 40. The Indonesian contingent is confirmed to fall in the 30 events contested.

Here are the records of several world and Asian records that were successfully broken during the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

Weightlifting

In this sport, the name of an athlete from Indonesia, Rahmat Erwin Abdullah, received the spotlight because in addition to winning a gold medal, he also managed to break a number of records after appearing in the men's 73kg class.

Rahmat came out as the champion with a total force of 359kg. This young man from Makassar without a record failed in three attempted batches.

The third effort with a figure of 201kg successfully broke the world record and Asian Games. Meanwhile, the men's 73kg clean and jerk class was recorded as Asia's record.

In the women's number there is North Korean athlete Kim Ilgyong who was able to break the world record. Down in the women's 59 kg class, 20-year-old Kim Ilgyong won 111 kg and broke the previous record at 110 by Kuo Hsing-chun from Chinese Taipei in April 2021.

Throw Catram

Feng Bin, who was a disc-throwing athlete from China, won gold when he fell in the women's category. With a record of 67.93 meters at the 2023 Asian Games, the acquisition also broke the world record.

The previous record was made by his compatriot, Li Yanfeng at the Olympics with a record 66.18 meters.

Run 3,000 Meters Men

In the men's 3,000-meter running sport, Indian athlete Avinash Mukund Sable managed to become the fastest. He recorded a time of 8:19.50.

In his Asian Games debut appearance, Avinash not only won a gold medal but also broke the world record.

Avinash's record time was 3 seconds faster than the Asian Games record previously scored by Hossein Keyhani in 2018.

Shooting

Another world record that was created when the 2023 Asian Games came from shooting. The shootings from China, namely Li Qingnian, Wu Cuicui and Zhang Xinqiu, managed to record 357 punches after dropping on the Women's Trap Team number which resulted in a gold medal and broke the world record.

In the men's air rifle number, China's shooting athlete, Sheng Lihao also set a new world record of 253.3 points.

India's sniper, Sift Kaur Samra set a world record of 469.6 points which he recorded in winning the women's 50m rifle three positions. Previously, the record was set by British athlete Seonaid McIntosh four months ago at the ISSF World Cup with a record of 467.0 points.

The shooting world record was also secured by the Indian team, consisting of Aishawary totaling Singh Tomar, Swapnil Suresh Kusale, and Akhil Sheoran. Down in the men's team number 50 m rifle they recorded 1,769 points, that number surpassed previously, 1,761 points scored by the United States in 2022.

Swimming

Hong Kong's haughey looked charming to win the women's 100m Women's Freestyle gold medal at the 2023 Asian Games as well as set a new Asian record. The 2020 Olympic silver medalist recorded 52.17 seconds, a tenth of a second below his own record.

Chinese swimming star Wang Shun, who led the 200m Men's Individual Medley medal at the 2023 Asian Games, also managed to set a new Asian record. Wang Shun, who won the Tokyo Olympics, scored one minute and 54.62 seconds.

Bicycle

China, which won the gold medal in the women's team Sprint Track Cycling number, was also able to break a new Asian record. Their time record at 46.376 seconds is in fact better than Asia's previous record of 46.446 seconds made on its own last month.
