JAKARTA - The 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup which will be held in Indonesia is confirmed to use the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and goal line technology. However, the goal line technology that will be used is not as sophisticated as the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

"Goal line tchnology, but of course it's different from Qatar, yes, we still put two cameras for goal line but the VAR team from FIFA will handle it, if the one in Qatar is really sophisticated," said Indra.
As for VAR, said Indra, his team will work with FIFA. It will also place the camera in the VAR room.

The U-17 World Cup will be held in four cities with four stadiums in Indonesia. The four stadiums are the Jakarta International Stadium (Jakarta), Si Jalak Harupat Stadium (Bandung), Manahan Stadium (Solo), and Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (Surabaya).
In this case, Indra said the four stadiums were ready to hold the U-17 World Cup and later there would be a special room for VAR in each stadium.
"We have to provide a camera. It is a mandatory requirement. In every stadium there is a special room for VAR," said Indra.
