JAKARTA - Indonesian men's singles, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, promised to continue to appear prime at the 2023 Asian Games even though the preparations were fairly tight.

Ginting, along with several other badminton athletes, appeared at the Hong Kong Open 2023. The Cimahi-born player was stopped in the semifinals. After that, Ginting focused on maintaining his physical condition to face the 2023 Asian Games which were already in sight.

"Maybe it's more about maintenance this week because the time is not much either. So we are trying our best to prepare it for the rest of one week," Ginting said, as quoted by Antara.

Ginting has also taken care of the mental and technical aspects with the coaching team. By looking at the results from the Hong Kong Open, Ginting felt an increase when compared to the China Open which was held two weeks ago.

"Travel from early to late feels better than the previous week at the China Open. So yes, there must be other evaluations that must be prepared," he said.

Ginting did not feel awkward at appearing in multi-branch sporting events for the umpteenth time. However, with a competition system that competes in team numbers and individuals, having different airs than conventional tournaments.

Moreover, Ginting will play an important role in realizing the PP PBSI target which targets three gold medals from Hangzhou. He also has a personal desire to raise medals from similar events in the 2018 edition in Jakarta-Palembang.

At the 2018 Asian Games, Ginting had to settle for securing a bronze medal from the men's singles individual number. The hope is to get better results at the 2023 Asian Games.

However, it is not a burden and wants to stay focused on the best game.

"Yes, I definitely want to upgrade the medal but it doesn't want to go too far, it means more to match one by one first. The majority of competition in men's singles is tight from the early rounds. So we have to be more prepared," he concluded.
