Quarterfinals Of The China Open 2023: Jonatan Christie And Shesar Hiren Rhustavito Join Each Other

JAKARTA As many as four Indonesian representatives have qualified for the quarter-finals of the China Open 2023. The following is the schedule for the match for the last eight of the Super 1000 BWF level event.

The pair Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri were the last representatives to qualify. They won a civil war against Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan.

The All England 2022 champion went through the second half with a straight two-game 21-16 and 21-12 win over their National Training Team at the Olympic Sport Center, China, Thursday, September 7 evening WIB.

Before them, three tickets for Indonesia still came from the men's singles and one from the women's doubles.

In the quarter-finals, Bagas/Fikri will meet sixth seed Kang Min Hyuk/Seo Seung Jae. The Korean pair reached the quarter-finals after stopping Taiwanese representatives and Tokyo 2020 Olympic champions Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin.

Meanwhile, the two men's singles who qualified for the quarter-finals were Jonatan Christie and Shesar Hiren Rhustavito. These two names immediately faced each other so that Indonesia automatically had one ticket in the semifinals.

On paper, this is the sixth meeting between the two pairs. In the previous five clashes, Jonathan led the winning record over his compatriot 4-1.

Furthermore, Apriyani/Fadia will face the second seed in Korea, Baek Ha-na/Lee So-he. Baek/Lee themselves reached the last eight after silencing the Malaysian pair, Vivian Hoo/Lim Chiew Sien.
