JAKARTA Chef de Mission (CdM) Angela Tanoesoedibjo confirmed that the Indonesian contingent will send 134 athletes to the 2023 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China. The four-year event will be held from 22 to 28 October.

This is the fourth edition since it was first held in 2010 in Guangzhou, China.

"For the Asian Para Games, we will dispatch 134 athletes, 62 officials, 56 coaches, and 12 managers," Angela said in a press statement at the Kemenpora Office, Jakarta, Friday, September 1.

As for the target, said Angela, Indonesia is eyeing the top ten positions for the largest disabled athletes in Asia.

"Indonesia follows 12 sports and the targets that have been given are in the top ten with gold 20, silver 23, and bronze 25," he said.

Previously in the 2018 Asian Para Games, Indonesia managed to close this event in the top fifth place. At that time, Merah Putih managed to collect 37 gold medals, 47 silver medals, and 59 bronze medals.
