JAKARTA - Spanish defender Aymeric Laporte announced his separation from Manchester City. He is rumored to be getting closer to Saudi Arabian League club Al Nassr.
Laporte announced his departure from the club through a video on social media. This ended his five-and-a-half-year career in England.
"Dear Cityzens, today I want to share my story with you," Laporte said in a video posted on his official Twitter account. "Right now this is our history. Thank you and see you again."
Laporte added in his social media post, "This has been going on for the unforgettable five and a half years. There are many memories that I will keep forever in my heart."

The former Athletic Bilbao will leave Etihad after making 180 appearances for City. His last appearance for the club nicknamed The Citizens was as a substitute to beat Burnley in the first match of the English Premier League 2023/2024.
Laporte is starting to rarely get the trust to become a starting player in City's back line. In fact, he missed the squad last weekend's win over Newcastle.
The arrival of Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig further prompted Laporte to leave. Al Nassr is touted as his new port.
He will follow in the footsteps of former City player, Riyad Mahrez, who had already had a career in the Saudi Arabian League after joining the Expert.
