JAKARTA - Serbian tennis player, Novak Djokovic, continues to overshadow Carlos Alcaraz in the ATP rankings. Djokovic cut his distance from Alcaraz after winning the Cincinnati Open 2023, last weekend.

In his final warm-up game for the last Grand Slam of the season, Djokovic beat Alcaraz in the final. He took revenge on 20-year-old Spaniards who won their final at Wimbledon on July 17, 2023.

In Cincinnati, Sunday, August 20, Djokovic trailed a set but bounced back to win 5-7, 7-6 (9/7), 7-6 (7/4) at his fifth match point and after playing for three hours 49 minutes.

The Serbian cut Alcaraz's lead at the top of the ATP to 20 points, and will reclaim the top spot if he wins the first half at the US Open.

Djokovic has not lost in the first round of the Grand Slam since the 2006 Australian Open.

Meanwhile, Danish Holger Rune moved up to No.4, kicking Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas to drop three places.

Alexander Zverev moved up five places to 12th place after reaching the semifinals in Cincinnati.
