JAKARTA Indonesian women's singles badminton player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung admitted that she was more relaxed in facing the 2023 World Championships.

This prestigious event will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, at the beginning of tomorrow's week, Monday, August 21, 2023. Gregoria is present as the eighth seed in the tournament.

Status as a seed does not make Gregoria feel burdened. Instead, he wanted to appear more relaxed in this championship.

"I will just enjoy the match. Now as the seed, I will appear more enjoyable and don't want to be burdened," said Gregoria in an official statement from PBSI.

Gregoria immediately got a ticket to the second half. The eighth seed status attached to the 2017 junior world champion earned him an empty draw in the first half.

In the second half Gregoria, who is currently ranked eighth in the world, will wait for the winner of France's Qi Xuefei against Singapore's women's singles Yeo Jia Min.

Gregoria is one of two women's singles representing Indonesia at this year's World Championships. Another single daughter is Putri Kusuma Wardani who will start her journey against Polina Buhrova (Ukraine).

Head of the Development and Achievement Division, Riony Mainaky, said that preparations for the 28th edition of the World Championships were actually relatively long. However, they are optimally ready for combat.

After fighting at the Australian Open in Sydney, the Cipayung National Training players were immediately prepared to face the World Championship which took place in Copenhagen for the fifth time.

"Although it's not long, the preparations we do feel like we are maximal. Players can focus and be enthusiastic about going through training days at the national training. The players are ready to fight and want to show their best performance," said Rionny.
