JAKARTA Arema FC is getting worse at the bottom of the Indonesian League 1 standings for the 2023/2024 season after the latest defeat against Barito Putera in the sixth week.

Singo Edan, who is currently still using the I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali, as a home, felt a fourth defeat this season after being beaten 0-4 by the Barito visitors, Saturday, August 5.

In that match Gustavo Tocantins and Murito Otavio Mendes each scored two goals to help Laskar Antasari get their third win this season.

Barito opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a Gustavo Tocantins penalty. Murito then doubled the score in the 24th minute before Tocantins added to widening the gap seven minutes before the normal break.

Murito then recorded his next goal in the 73rd minute. He managed to take advantage of the flaws in Arema's defense to close the match with a landslide score of four goals without reply.

This defeat made Arema stay at the bottom of the standings with two points, which is the result of two draws from six matches that have been played.

Meanwhile in the other four matches, Singo Edan came home with no points. They are the only team that have not tasted victory so far.
