Entering The Final, Carlos Alcaraz Pede Defeats Novak Djokovic At Wimbledon

JAKARTA - After beating Daniil Medvedev in the Semi Finals, Carlos Alcaraz will challenge Novak Djokovic in the men's singles final match of Wimbledon 2023. Where, it will take place on Sunday local time.

Alcaraz secured his ticket to the top party after defeating Daniil Medvedev through a three-set battle in the semifinals which took place at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, Friday. The Spaniard secured a straight set of 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 wins.

"I believe I was able to beat Djokovic. Everyone knows the legend about him. I will fight. I will believe in myself. There is no time to be afraid, there is no time to feel tired," Alcaraz quoted Antara, Saturday, July 15.

Two years ago, Alcaraz was only able to win seven games as he lost to Medvedev on Wimbledon. At that time, he was ranked 75th in the world, while Medvedev was in second place on the rankings list.

On Friday, the service game dominated the opening set, until Alcaraz converted the break point to a 5-3 lead. He then went smoothly with his service game to win the first set.

Medvedev had pressed Alcaraz through break pont in the second game of the second set. The US Open Alcaraz champion then hit again in the third set on his way to secure victory.

Alcaraz broke his opponent's serve to lead 2-0 in the third set, before four consecutive breaks from Medvedev put Alcaraz in a slightly depressed position.

However, Alcaraz was able to calm down, and ensured his first Wimbledon final ticket through a hard forward strike. It also became a blow to the 27th winner of this match.
