Ankle Injury While Running, Fabio Quartararo Is Endangered By Absen In MotoGP Netherlands

JAKARTA - Yamaha racer Fabio Qurtararo is in danger of being absent from the Dutch MotoGP due to his latest condition. He had an accident that caused an injury to his ankle.

Quoted from Crash on Friday, June 23, the injury was experienced by Quartararo while running in Amsterdam. Due to his worrying circumstances, Qaurtararo had to undergo X-rays to confirm his condition further.

"I fell while running! My ankle and fingers were sprained. And, I will have X-rays within an hour so hopefully it won't be a serious injury," Quartararo said at Assen.

"I had a total accident! I ran and stumbled... Running is dangerous!" he added, telling the chronology.

The situation experienced by Quartararo is almost the same as that experienced by Aleix Espargaro before. The Aprillia Racing racer also had an accident because he cycled before appearing at Mugello.

Unfortunately, Espargaro experienced this strange accident while playing on a cellphone while cycling. As a result, the Aprilian racer suffered a fracture in his heel and ribs.

With Quartararo's injury situation, it is clearly increasingly difficult for his position in MotoGP this season. Moreover, his riding Yamaha motorbikes cannot match the performance of Ducati's motorbikes on track.

Until now, the French racer has only been on the podium once, it was also in third place when he appeared in the United States MotoGP. His poor performance makes Quartararo currently only collect 57 points and occupy eighth position in the standings.

The Dutch MotoGP will only be held at the Assen Circuit on Sunday, June 25. Meanwhile, the free practice series will begin on Friday, June 23.
