JAKARTA - Barcelona is doing something crazy. The La Liga giant club fences off an 18-year-old player with a buyout clause whose value doesn't make sense.

Barcelona has just signed Mikayil Faye from NK Kustosija Zagreb. The 18-year-old is tied to a four-year contract until 2027.

In the contract, listed a release clause of 400 million euros or around Rp. 6.5 trillion!

"FC Barcelona and NK Kustosija Zagreb have reached an agreement for player Mikayil Faye for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2027 with a buy out clause of 400 million euros," the club's official announcement said via social media on Tuesday, June 20.

"Players have undergone the necessary medical tests at Barcelona Hospital and FC Barcelona Medical Services at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, visited the club facilities and took to the field at Estadi Johan Cruyff wearing Barca uniforms. Thus, all that remains is the official signing of his contract," the announcement continued.

Born in Sedhiou, Senegal on July 14, 2004, Faye started his career with Berdias FC in the Gambia league. Appearing slick, Faye then moved to an extraordinary one for the Croatian Second Division club NK Kustosija to recruit him.

Together with the Zagreb-based club, Faye appeared 13 times, 11 of which started and also scored one goal.

Faye's goal was scored when his team won 3-0 against NK Hrvatski Dragovoljac in May last month.

At a young age, Faye became the Senegal U-17 squad and had 10 caps with a total playing minute of 794 minutes, as reported by Transfermarkt via Antara.

"As a child I have photos of Barca in my room, I fulfill my dreams," Faye said.
