JAKARTA - Tennis Player Novak Djokovic defeated Carlos Alcaraz who had cramps in the semifinals at Roland Garros 6-2, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1, Friday, to reach the final of the 2023 Open France event.
The victory made Djokovic the second oldest male finalist in French Open history and is getting closer to the 23rd Grand Slam title.
Djokovic, the two-time Roland Garros champion, will break the record he holds with Rafael Nadal for the Grand Slam title for the most men's players if he beats Casper Ruud or Alexander Zverev in the final on Sunday.
The 36-year-old Serbian can also outperform Nadal as the oldest winner in the tournament and regain the number one ranking from Alcaraz, whose movement was limited due to cramps in the last two sets.
"First and especially I have to say bad luck for Carlos, because at this level the last thing you want is cramps, physical problems in the last stage of Grand Slam," said Novak Djokovic, as broadcast by AFP via Antara.
