Requirements To Become PSSI Chairman, Election Procedures, And Voters With Right To Vote

YOGYAKARTA – The highest football federation in Indonesia PSSI (All Indonesian Football Association) currently has a new agenda in the form of finding a new chairman. There are several figures who have nominated themselves to become Ketum PSSI. Apart from that, what are the requirements to become the general chairman of PSSI?

Criteria and Requirements to Become Chairman of PSSI

There are two types of requirements to become general chairman of PSSI, which must meet the criteria and have the required documents. The criteria that must be met by the candidate for chairman of PSSI are as follows.

1. Willing to make and prepare an Integrity Pact which includes a statement of release from convicts, integrity checks from Komdis PSSI, and SKCK;
2. Minimum age 30 years;
3. Have a minimum of five years experience managing football in PSSI members;
4. Active in the world of Indonesian football, as evidenced by letters of support/recommendation from PSSI members;
5. Have knowledge of football governance and football law;
6. Have experience in strategic positions/decision makers, both in government and private sector;
7. Understand, agree, have the ability and skills to successfully develop the PSSI program according to the FIFA and AFC programs.

In addition, the candidate for chairman of PSSI must also have a number of documents required, namely as follows.

1. 4 pieces of color passport photo with blue background (4x6) size;
2. Submit a Curriculum Vitae (CV) with proof of activity in football for 5 years;
3. Certificate from a PSSI member for each experience listed;
4. Copy of identity card (KTP/SIM/other identity);
5. Certificate of Police Records (SKCK);
6. Certificate of never having been convicted of a crime from the local PN;
7. Integrity inspection result letter from Komdis PSSI;
8. Form A-2.

Procedure for Election of PSSI Chairman

The procedure for electing the general chairman of PSSI is listed in the 2019 Edition of the PSSI statute Article 27. The following provisions for election refer to these rules.

1. Elections are carried out according to the rules of the Statutes and the FIFA Standard Electoral Code;
2. Secret voting shall be carried out;
3. Elections related to people, the decision must be based on the most votes (50% + 1) and declared valid in the first ballot;
4. In the second and subsequent required ballots, decisions are taken by a majority of the registered suffrage;
5. If there are more than two candidates for a position, then the lowest vote-getter will be eliminated from the second ballot leaving two candidates.

Voters in the Election of PSSI Chairman

As previously explained, the Chairperson of PSSI is appointed based on the highest number of votes. Votes come from PSSI internal voters. This is based on the 2019 edition of the PSSI Statute Article 34. There are seven elements of PSSI members who have the right to vote, namely as follows.

1. Clubs (18 clubs in League 1, 16 Clubs in League 2, and 16 Clubs in League 3);
2. PSSI Provincial Association (according to the number of provincial representatives in Indonesia);
3. Association of Women's Football Clubs;
4. Indonesian Futsal Federation;
5. Referee Association;
6. Players Association;
7. Trainers Association.
