Bad Weather in Thailand MotoGP Makes Bastianini Worried: Changing Rain and Sun Can Harm Us

JAKARTA - Gresini racer, Enea Bastianini is worried about changes in the weather at the Buriram Circuit for MotoGP Thailand, Sunday, October 2. This makes him dare not set a high target to race in the standings.

Quoted from Corsedimoto, Friday, Bastianini is currently in a position to pursue the 2022 MotoGP title after sitting in the fourth position in the standings. However, ahead of the Thailand MotoGP, Bastianini did not want to set a high target.

Bastianini said this because he took into account the changing weather in Thailand. This situation will be a challenge for Bastianini and he can only fix himself in third place in the standings.

"The alternation of rain and sun can harm us", Bastianini said as quoted by Corsedimoto.

"The third position is not far from the current position and we believe we can get there (reach the third position in the standings)", Bastianini added.

The race at the Buriram Circuit is predicted to be held in rainy conditions. However, Bastianini still hopes that the weather will not adversely affect track conditions during the race later.

"I hope it will be a good track and good weather because at the moment it is raining heavily, it will be very important for the result of the weekend", said Bastianini.

"I think this is an effective track for Ducati, for me (the track) this is my first appearance with MotoGP and I have to learn quickly", he continued.

In addition, Bastianini also considered that the Thai MotoGP would feel different from the Japanese MotoGP series. Because the race at the Motegi Circuit has a schedule that is not the same as the previous series.

"It will be different from Japan because we will definitely have normal free practice sessions to understand everything.

"The goal is to take 49 points off first place to have a good race, it won't be easy but we will be able to fight for an important position", Bastianini said.
