Summer Transfer Market Is Closed, Diego Costa May Still Return To The Premier League

JAKARTA - The summer transfer market officially closes on September 1, 2022. However, the process of recruiting players is believed to still occur in the English Premier League.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are rumored to be bringing back Diego Costa. The Brazilian underwent a medical test with Wolves this week.

Wolverhampton's move could not be separated from the injury of their new player, Sasa Kalajdzic. The player who was brought in for a dowry of 15 million pounds suffered an ACL injury.

In fact, he has only played 45 minutes in his debut match with Wolves.

The English Premier League mid-table club was also looking for a replacement. The choice then went to Diego Costa.

The former Chelsea striker is currently a free agent. So, this 35-year-old player can be recruited outside the transfer window.

The Athletic reported that the player who had played for the Chinese League club was expected to arrive at the club's headquarters on Tuesday.

The player who last defended Atletico Miniero, will undergo a medical test with the Molineux team.

As is known, Costa ended his career with Atletico Miniero in January. He did not renew his contract with the Brazilian club.

The Premier League itself is nothing new for Costa. He even won the league twice in three seasons with Chelsea.

During his time at Chelsea, Costa scored 52 goals in 120 games in all competitions. In 2018, he decided to leave to join Atletico Madrid.
