Antonio Conte And Thomas Tuchel Found Guilty By The FA After A Commotion At The End Of The London Derby

JAKARTA - Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte have been found guilty by the English Football Association (FA) in the aftermath of a brawl at the end of the London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Chelsea and Spurs coach clashed during the 2-2 draw in the second week of the 2022/2023 Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, August 14 evening GMT+7 (Western Indonesian Time or WIB).

The two even almost had a fistfight at the end of the match. The consequences of the commotion made them found guilty by the FA of violating FA Rule E3.

"Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte have both been charged with breaching FA Rule E3, following the Premier League match between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 14 August 2022," read a statement by English football's governing body.

The commotion that occurred at the end of the match was considered completely inappropriate by the FA. However, Conte and Tuchel have until this Thursday to respond to the allegations.

Tuchel and Conte both received yellow cards midway through the second half after going head-to-head after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's goal.

The tension continued at the end of the match after Tuchel refused to let go of Conte's hand. Tuchel looked annoyed that the Italian coach didn't want to look him in the eye when they shook hands.

As a result, the two of them re-engage pushing each other. This friction made referee Anthony Taylor issue a red card for the two tacticians.

"Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte have until Thursday 18 August 2022 to provide their respective responses," the FA said.

Tuchel could still face further charges as the FA will investigate his comments regarding the referee after the match. The referee was deemed incompetent to lead the match because the Spurs reply was preceded by a foul but was allowed to do so.
