Real Madrid Legend Says It's Impossible For Cristiano Ronaldo To Join Atlético Madrid: It Would Be A Very Strange Thing

JAKARTA - Real Madrid legend Pedja Mijatovic said the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo joining Atletico Madrid was an impossibility.

Ronaldo is still being linked with Manchester United's exit this summer. One that has been linked with the Portuguese star is Atletico Madrid.

However, Mijatovic, who was once the sporting director of Real Madrid, does not believe that these rumors will come true.

"How does Cristiano Ronaldo play with Atletico Madrid? I don't think that will happen," he told El Larguero as quoted by Tribal Football.

Previously, Atlético Madrid supporters have also expressed their attitude towards rejecting Ronaldo's presence in their favorite team.

They asked the club management to rule out the transfer of CR7 to Wanda Metropolitano. They even put that attitude in the form of a banner in Atletico's pre-season match against Numancia.

Rumors linking Ronaldo and Atletico are indeed considered very strange. The reason is, that he is one of the former Real Madrid players who are fierce rivals in the Spanish capital.

"It would be very strange to see Cristiano Ronaldo return to Madrid, but play against Real Madrid. I had to wipe my eyes. It would have been a dream, it didn't happen," said Mijatovic.

Atletico is currently listed as the main candidate after Ronaldo did not attract interest from other clubs. He has previously been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea.

However, the three clubs have openly stated that they do not need the services of the 37-year-old player. Even though there are no fans, Ronaldo still insists on leaving Manchester United.
