JAKARTA - The theme song for the ASEAN Para Games (APG) 2022 was officially launched and sung live at a dinner party representing the contingents of participating countries at Pura Mangkunegaran Solo, Thursday night.

The theme song, entitled S for E, which stands for Striving for Equality, was performed by Lucky Octavian, Kezia Kaithlyn, Inara, and Ricardo Ryo.

Chairman of the Indonesian National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Senny Marbun said the title was the same as the tagline carried by the APG this time.

"Mr. Menpora always reminds me to fight, to fight for equality. This is in accordance with the APG tagline, S for E," he said as quoted by Antara.

Regarding the implementation of the APG, he said, it had to go through the hard struggle of the NPCI.

"I am moved because the APG which should have been held in the Philippines and Vietnam failed. If left unchecked, it will fade. I am trying to inspire the president's heart to take the APG event which has failed twice," he said.

On the same occasion, Mangkunegara X as the host of the dinner party welcomed the APG 2022 in Solo City.

"We believe, APG 2022 will be the embodiment of values and further build good relations between ASEAN countries. For all the athletes who gathered tonight, we have been shown that there is no challenge in life that cannot be surpassed," he said.

He said the enthusiasm shown in this event has inspired everyone to face life's challenges with hard work and belief.

According to him, the APG activity also has a positive impact on the economy, tourism, and cultural preservation for the City of Solo and its surroundings.

"Besides that, it also helps to increase the spirit to empower the community," he said.
