JAKARTA – Women's doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti stepped into the second round of the 2022 Malaysia Masters. They qualified after beating Thailand's Supissara Paewsampran/Puttita Supajirakul.

The Malaysia Open 2022 champion won two straight games 21-13 and 21-10 at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, on Wednesday, July 6.

In the second round later, Apriyani/Fadia will meet a pair of brothers from Bulgaria, namely Gabriela Stoeva/Stefani Stoeva.

Apriyani/Fadia became the second representative of Indonesian women's doubles to qualify for the second round. Previously, the first ticket was obtained by Febby Valencia Dwijayanti Gani/Ribka Sugiarto.

Indonesia still has the opportunity to add women's doubles representatives in the second round. This will happen if the pair Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi and Melani Mamahit/Tryola Nadia can win over their opponents.

These two pairs will play today. Febri/Amalia will play against India's Ashwini Ponnappa/Reddy N. Sikki, while Melani/Tryola will meet Germany's Linda Efler/Isabel Lohau.

Apart from Apriyani/Fadia, the mixed doubles pair Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari also received tickets. They went into the second round after winning over representatives of Denmark Mathias Thyrri / Amalie Magelund.

Unfortunately, Rinov/Pitha's success could not be followed by Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati mixed doubles. The pair failed to advance to the second round after being beaten by first seeds Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai.
