JAKARTA - Lazio officially extended the contract of their coach, Maurizio Sarri. The former Juventus coach will stay until 2025.
This confirmation has been announced by the club bearing the eagle symbol on their official website.
"SS Lazio announces that coach Maurizio Sarri has renewed his contract with the club, extended until 2025," a club statement read.
Reportedly, Sarri will be paid 3.5 million euros, equivalent to IDR 54 billion per season. That has not been added bonuses regarding team performance.
In addition, Sarri also received a guarantee from club officials, namely President Claudio Lotito and Director Igli Tare, a number of star players will stay. Among them are Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto.
Milinkovic-Savic himself is reportedly the target of English Premier League club, Manchester United. The Serbian player is plotted as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba, who is confirmed to leave in June.
Sarri is actually willing to lose the player. However, Lazio's management must find a commensurate replacement.
Previously, Lazio was reported to be ready to release the 27-year-old player at a price of 80 million euros or around IDR 1.2 trillion. That value is believed to be difficult for Manchester United to fulfill.
Apart from Manchester United, the former KRC Genk player is reportedly also the target of other European clubs, namely Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
