JAKARTA - The Indonesian team will face India in the final of the 2022 Thomas Cup. This final match will take place at the Impact Arena, Bangkok, Thailand, Sunday, May 15.

The Red and White team carried out training after exercise in order to finalize strategy and preparation. The players are so serious about preparing themselves. They were asked to focus on practicing and staying more in hotel rooms.

"Indonesia is very serious in facing the Thomas Cup final against India. This Saturday afternoon they are training to be better prepared for the final," said team manager Hendro Santoso, as reported by Antara.

Regarding the lineup of players to be revealed, the team still has to discuss with coaches, physical trainers, doctors, and a team of psychologists. The names of the new players will be submitted on Sunday, or about four hours before the match starts.

"We just had a discussion on Sunday morning to arrange the formation of players that will be fielded against India. For sure, we fielded the best strength," said Hendro.

Meanwhile, the men's singles coach, Irwansyah, made sure all his players were in good condition. It's just that the fight against Japan in the semifinals on Friday night left the players tired. With a full rest today, he is optimistic that the condition of his players will return to fitness.

Irwansyah has also conveyed to his students to be ready to fight against India. Whoever is elected, must be prepared to score points.

"Ginting's performance is also getting better. His confidence is also growing. This is a positive thing, especially since he was able to beat Momota yesterday," said Irwansyah.

The men's doubles coach, Herry Iman Pierngadi, has also warned his players to fight hard in the final. India's opponents are certainly not easy and need extra appearances.

"For the match later, I ask the players to work extra hard. It's like, the head becomes the feet, the feet become the head," he said.

To lower the line-up, Herry will see how the results of Saturday afternoon's training will be. After that, just have a personal discussion with the players.

"Actually, all the players are ready to play. But I will talk personally with them first to see how they are physically, technically, and especially mentally. Because this is a final which is not easy," concluded Herry.
