JAKARTA – Marc Marquez is confirmed to be absent from the Argentine MotoGP Grand Prix. He is still recovering after a terrible accident in the warm-up session at the Mandalika MotoGP on March 20.

The Repsol Honda Team has confirmed that Marquez will not be on the track at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit in the race which will take place on Art, March 4.

"The Repsol Honda Team rider (Marc Marquez) will not take part in the next round of the MotoGP World Championship which takes place this weekend in Argentina as he continues his recovery", Honda said in a statement on their website.

Marquez was sentenced to a concussion after an accident at Mandalika so he could not race. The medical team later stated that Marquez's diplopia recurred at the first examination.

However, the current six-time MotoGP world champion is showing very good improvement with his diplopia. The news was after the second medical examination on Monday.

"In this new examination, Dr. Sánchez Dalmau confirmed that Marc Marquez's diplopia is showing significant improvement and reaffirmed that his vision development is very good. As was the case with the last episode of diplopia, Marc Marquez will continue to carry out conservative treatment with regular checkups", continued the Repsol Honda team.

A good recovery opens the possibility for Marquez to appear again in the next race after Argentina, which will take place in the United States on April 11, 2022.
