The Moment Jokowi Hands Over The Mandalika MotoGP Champion Trophy: First Meeting With Oliveira And Quartararo

MANDALIKA - The Mandalika MotoGP event has ended, Sunday, March 20. KTM's Miguel Oliveira came out victorious.

Oliveira became the first rider to touch the finish line, followed by Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha MotoGP) and Johann Zarco (Pramac Ducati).

Something was interesting during the procession of awarding the champion trophy. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) directly handed over all the trophies for the Mandalika MotoGP.

Apart from Oliveira, President Jokowi also handed over trophies to Quartararo and Zarco, as reported by Antara.

This is the first opportunity for Oliveira and Quartararo to meet President Jokowi. Previously, the two riders were absent from the MotoGP racers parade in Jakarta.

Both Quartararo and Oliveira immediately landed in Lombok upon arrival in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Zarco was included in the 20 racers that President Jokowi received at the Presidential Palace some time ago.

As previously reported, the MotoGP event at Mandalika had to experience a start delay due to heavy rains that flushed the circuit area.

The race finally really started after almost two hours from the initial schedule starting at 14.00 WITA, although the organizers later decided to reduce the number of laps to 20 laps from the initial plan of 27 laps.

On the sidelines of waiting for the rain to stop, the President was also seen chatting with the CEO of Dorna Sports as the owner of the commercial rights of MotoGP, Carmelo Ezpeleta, in the paddock area.

The Mandalika MotoGP marks the first time the world's most prestigious two-wheeled race has returned to Indonesia after 25 years.
