Tottenham Hotspur Find It Difficult To Beat Brighton, Antonio Conte Says His Team Deserves To Win

JAKARTA - The Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte, believes that his team deserved a 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in the English Premier League, Thursday, March 17, WIB. Cristian Romero and Harry Kane contributed two of Tottenham's winning goals.

After the match, Conte paid tribute to Brighton. He considered Graham Potter's manager had made this fight exciting.

But in the end, he believes his team deserved the three points.

"Tonight I think we deserved a better result. (Brighton) have a very good manager. During the game they can change the system, it works very well", Conte was quoted as saying by Sky Sport.

Furthermore, Conte also said Potter worked with the same team for many years which helped him improve his performance and tactical aspects. For this, he credits Potter for making Brighton such a good team.

Apart from that, Conte also briefly mentioned the meeting of the two teams in the FA Cup earlier last month. This time the manager conceded Spurs' 3-1 win over the same opponent in the FA Cup fourth round was a bit unfair.

"To be honest, against Brighton it wasn't easy. I think tonight we played a better game than the FA Cup. We won it 3-1 but the result was a bit unfair because they shot a lot and they were unlucky in that game."

Meanwhile, the result in this match at the Falmer Stadium made Brighton swallow six consecutive defeats in the Premier League. This makes them increasingly slumped in the Premier League standings.
