Due To Being Dirty, The 2022 MotoGP Pre-season Test At The Mandalika Circuit Was Stopped

JAKARTA – The Mandalika MotoGP pre-season test session has started. The first day of the test was also stopped because the circuit was slippery and dirty due to the rain.

The official test at the Mandalika Circuit begins on Friday, February 11. Just started more than an hour red flag immediately raised marking the test session should be suspended temporarily.

“The session has been stopped because the circuit is being cleaned. It rained all night making the circuit quite dirty!” wrote the official MotoGP Twitter account.

However, the test session has now resumed after officers cleared the track which was soiled by rainwater.

The continuation of the test session was carried out after the organizers raised the green flag at 12.00 p.m. local time or 11.00 a.m. Indonesian Western Time (WIB).

The morning test session had actually been running for an hour. When the red flag was reported on the first day of the pre-season session, there were 6 hours 36 minutes, and 13 seconds left.

Pramac's Johann Zarco was leading the practice session when the test was stopped. He incised a time of 1 minute 44.830 seconds or 0.018 seconds ahead of Jack Miller who followed behind him.

The pre-season test at Mandalika will last until Sunday, February 13. A total of 24 riders took part in the test officials.

Mandalika will be the second series of MotoGP races this season on March 18-20. The race at the pride of Indonesia circuit was held after the first series at the Losail International Circuit, Qatar.
