Greek Club Goalkeeper Cyrus Margono Gives Signal To Join The Indonesian National Team

JAKARTA — Cyrus Margono gave a signal to join the Indonesian national team. The signs that he will become a naturalized player in the Garuda squad are already starting to appear.

This can be seen from the 20-year-old goalkeeper's latest upload on his personal Instagram account. He was seen redistributing uploads from the Indonesian Embassy in Athens.

In the upload, Margono took a photo with the Indonesian Ambassador, Bebeb Djundjunan. He also wrote information that strengthened the speculation that he would join the Indonesian national team.

"Soon #KitaGaruda," Margono wrote. It also accompanies the red and white flag emote.

The post shows that it is very likely that the 20-year-old goalkeeper will become the next naturalized player. Moreover, the meeting with the Indonesian Embassy in Athens discussed football.

"It was a pleasant experience to be able to exchange ideas with one of the sons of Indonesian descent who is active at the international level," the Indonesian Embassy wrote on Instagram.

Cyrus himself currently plays for Greek League club Panathinaikos Athens B. He started his career in the youth team by joining the New York Soccer Club team.

Joining the Panathinaikos club was his first professional contract. However, he does not yet have a record of appearances in competitive matches with his new club.

However, he has already made his debut in a test match. He started as a starter when Panathinaikos B met Panaitolikos on September 4, 2021.

Margono has Indonesian blood from his father. Meanwhile, the mother is from Iran.
