JAKARTA - Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Marshal TNI Mohamad Tonny Harjono said his party would get 25 new radars to close the flash spot of Indonesian airspace.
"So in the future there will be no more blind spots or those that are not covered. All parts of Indonesia will be covered later. There are no aircraft movements that are not covered," said Tonny as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 30.
Tonny explained that the 25 radars were imported from two different manufacturers, namely 13 made by French companies and 12 made in Czech.
Later, 13 of the 25 new radars will be placed at 13 points replacing the old monitoring radar. Meanwhile, 12 new radars will be placed at strategic points that function to cover the flash spot.
"The plan is that in January (2025) I will have a groundbreaking (new point) in Takalar, South Sulawesi, it will be in South Makassar with Banjarmasin," explained Tonny.
