JAKARTA - A number of fuel and gas transport trucks began entering the Gaza Strip, Palestine through the Rafah border from Palestine on Friday, along with the ceasefire of Hamas and Israel.

The Hamas-Israeli ceasefire began Friday at morning local time, after being delayed for 24 hours. COGAT said the shipment "with the approval of political echelons, within the framework of a ceasefire and a scheduled release of hostages agreed with the US, mediated by Qatar and Egypt."

"The fuel and gas for cooking are intended to operate important humanitarian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip," he said, according to The Times of Israel.

Egyptian officials said about 130,000 liters of fuel and four gas trucks would enter Gaza every day from Egypt starting Friday.

"Two hundred trucks, loaded with food, medicine, and water, will enter every day for the first time since Israel's war began in the region," Diaa Rahwan, head of the Egyptian State Information Service, said in a statement on Friday.

Rashwan said Egypt would continue to accept the group of injured people from Gaza for treatment, facilitating the evacuation of foreigners and dual nationals trapped in the region.

He added, for the first time since the conflict broke out, Egypt will allow the entry of Palestinians who wish to enter Gaza through the Rafah border.
