Thousand Islands Prepare Land On Karya Island To Build RSUD

JAKARTA - The Thousand Islands Regency Government has prepared a land area of 5,000 square meters (m2) which is an asset of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government on Karya Island for the construction of a Regional General Hospital (RSUD).

"I prepared land there (Kya Island) covering an area of about 5,000 square meters," said the Regent of the Thousand Islands Junaedi at the DKI DPRD building, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 20.

Junaedi said that his party had reviewed the land to ensure that preparations for the construction of additional health facilities in the Thousand Islands were ripe.

However, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) together with the Thousand Islands Regency have not been able to confirm the timing of the construction.

Junaedi explained that the construction of a hospital on Karya Island is to help residents get their health services if they need more adequate and close health facilities (faskes).

This is because many residents died on their way to the hospital. "Because many residents of Pulau Seribu who were sick were referred to hospitals on land (regions), so (the bodies) could not be saved," said Junaedi.

The hospitals that will be built on Karya Island will be equipped with complete health facilities, including specialist doctors, to make it easier for the people of the only district in DKI Jakarta Province to get health services.

"Because of the lack of specialist doctors, for example, that's the case. Lack of health facilities, it's still less than on land," he said.

In addition, it is necessary to increase the status of the hospital. "So it must be improved first. The hospital is from type E to type D. Yes, yesterday I proposed that," said Junaedi

The plan to build a hospital on Karya Island has been proposed to the DKI Jakarta Health Office (Dinkes). The DKI Health Office and the Thousand Islands Regency Government have gone directly to check the land.

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) until 2021, it is recorded that the Thousand Islands has one government-owned hospital with 10 beds available for patients.
