Speech At IPEF Forum, Jokowi: Indonesia Opens Cooperation With Anyone As Long As It Benefits Each Other

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo in his speech at the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) forum emphasized the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation between member countries. "Indonesia is always open to cooperating with anyone based on the principle of mutual benefit. This principle is what underlies Indonesia participating in IPEF negotiations," said President Joko Widodo as witnessed on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube show in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, November 17. Understanding the national needs, especially the interests of developing countries, is the key to establishing good cooperation. Jokowi emphasized that the success of the IPEF will depend on how the parties feel mutually beneficial. Where, cooperation in green economy development, expansion of trade and investment, energy transition, and strengthening critical mineral supply chains is an important pillar of IPEF cooperation. "We must present concrete cooperation on these priorities and I appreciate the signing of the second pillar cooperation regarding the supply chain, a concrete achievement of IPEF countries in response to the disruption of global supply chains," he said. President Widodo also said that he welcomed the successful completion of the third pillar of IPEF negotiations, namely the clean economy and the fourth pillar of the fair economic IPEF.

Jokowi emphasized that Indonesia is also committed to completing the first IPEF pillar negotiations, namely trade in 2024 and implementing mutual agreements.
