The General Election Commission (KPU) will hold a draw and determination of the serial numbers of presidential candidates (candidates) and vice presidents (cawapres) for the 2024 General Election tomorrow night, Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 18.30 WIB.

KPU commissioner Idham Holik said, the draw and determination of serial numbers were carried out in a plenary meeting at the KPU office, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Central Jakarta.

"The KPU will carry out the stages of drawing and determining the serial number of presidential and vice presidential candidates as stipulated in Article 235 paragraph (2) of the open KPU plenary meeting for the draw and determination of the serial number of the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs is planned to be held at the KPU office on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 18.30 until it is finished," said Idham at the KPU office, Monday, November 13.

After the serial number is determined, the campaign period for the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, and Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka will last for 75 days, starting from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024.

"The campaign period for presidential and vice presidential pairs is the same as the campaign period for legislative elections, which will start on November 28, 2023 and will last for the next 75 days or until February 10, 2024," said Idham.

The KPU today appointed three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in 2024. The determination was made after the KPU held a plenary session. The KPU has completed document verification including receiving the results of the 3 candidate pairs of health tests.

"A pair of presidential-vice presidential candidates Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD and Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka are declared eligible as a pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates participating in the 2024 election," said Idham.

The AMIN pair is supported by NasDem political parties, PKB and PKS. Ganjar-Mahfud is supported by the PDI-P (PDIP) political parties, the United Development Party (PPP), the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo), and the Hanura Party.

Meanwhile, Prabowo-Gibran is promoted/supported by the Greater Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra), the Golkar Party (Golkar), the National Mandate Party (PAN), the Democratic Party, the Crescent Star Party (PBB), the Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora), the Garda Party of the Republic of Indonesia (Garuda), and the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).

The KPU also explained that the presidential and vice-presidential candidates would receive security and escort by the Indonesian National Police.
