BADUNG - I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, will impose a non-cash parking payment using an electronic money card based on manless or unmanned on Friday, December 1, 2023.

General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan said, this allows users of self-transacting services.

The implementation of this system is one of the efforts of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to support government programs in increasing non-cash transactions and to accelerate the development of digitalization at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

"We have been carrying out efforts to support this non-cash transaction since 2021, at that time we implemented a cashless system. This means that it is not completely manless because there is still a process of taking a parking ticket at the vehicle entrance and handing it over to the officer at the exit," said Handy, Thursday, November 9.

"Meanwhile, as of December 1, the entire process began to enter and exit the vehicle by using services independently by attaching an electronic card, there was no parking ticket. This migration is also an effort to reduce the use of paper so that services at the airport are more environmentally friendly," he added.

For the initial stage, the implementation of manless parking on December 1, 2023, only applies to four or more wheeled vehicles. Meanwhile, two-wheeled vehicles still use a cashless system.

Technically, the process of vehicles when entering I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport is to attach an electronic card or tap in and the doorstop will automatically open and then process the vehicle out.

He also reminded that electronic cards that are attached or tap out are the same electronic cards that are used during the entry process so that they can be read on the system.

For the potential technical constraints, at each dispenser there are aid buttons connected to officers in the control room that will help with the resistance and provide solutions to the obstacles experienced and are tasked with calling field officers if obstacles cannot be handled immediately.

As a socialization step related to the change in parking service patterns, since November 9, 2023, vehicle parking services have been carried out in a hybrid manner, using two methods, namely cahless and manless. So that since the socialization period, service users have been able to attach electronic money cards when the airport enters and leaves.

However, service users who do not have an electronic money card can still take a parking ticket at the entrance and payments at the exit can use an electronic money card.

"We hope that with sufficient socialization time, when the full operation is manless, all service users will be able to carry out the process of entering and leaving the vehicle with an electronic money card and not experiencing problems when conducting parking transactions," he said.

The cashless payment system takes a longer time in the transaction process, so there are often queues of vehicles at the exit, especially during crowded hours.

"The implementation of this manless or unmanned payment is expected to be a solution to this problem. In order to support this, we urge service users to ensure that the balance on their electronic card is sufficient to make transactions," he said.

The electronic money cards that can currently be used for parking payments at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport are e-Money Bank Mandiri, Brizzi from Bank BRI, Tap Cash from BNI, and Flazz from BCA. This electronic money can be bought and recharging its balance at the bank office or minimarket.
