Indonesian Deputy Minister Of Foreign Affairs: Red Crescent To Egyptian Government Appreciates Indonesia's Humanitarian Aid For Gaza

JAKARTA - Three planes carrying humanitarian aid from the Government and the Indonesian people for Gazans, Palestinians have arrived in Egypt, and then handed over to local humanitarian agencies in collaboration with the United Nations agency.

Two Hercules planes and one type of Airbus A330-800 carrying 51.5 tons of humanitarian aid from Indonesia arrived gradually at El Arish Airport, Egypt today.

"This is a form of our concern, hoping that the violence that occurs in Gaza can really be stopped. Moreover, most of the civilian victims are not related to what happened," said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Pahala Mansury who led the group from Jakarta, in a video statement Monday, September 6.

He said that the assistance provided by Indonesia received appreciation from humanitarian institutions to the Egyptian government, highlighting the togetherness of Indonesian citizens to help.

"The Egyptian Red Crescent expressed its appreciation, as did the Egyptian government and the local government," said Deputy Foreign Minister Pahala.

He added that many countries are providing assistance by cooperating with Egypt's Red Crescent. The institution is known to have collaborated with the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).

As previously reported, an aid transport plane from Indonesia arrived in Egypt today and was immediately handed over to Egypt's Red Crescent.

"Humanist aid for Gazans has arrived at El Arish Airport, Egypt on November 6, 2023. The aircraft carrying aid for Gaza arrived at 8.00 local time," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Lalu Muhamad Iqbal.

From the photos shared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it appears that the Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt Lutfi Rauf welcomed the arrival of the humanitarian aid at the airport.

He added that the Hercules Indonesian Air Force aircraft carrying humanitarian aid took the Jakarta - Aceh - Yangon, New Delhi, Abi Dhabi, Jeddah and El Arish routes.
